- PROGRAM:
- SPLIT - Split a file up into many files.
- USAGE:
- SPLIT [<fid] [name] [-Ln] [>fid]
- FUNCTION:
- This takes the input file and splits it into many files.
- The generated file names $SPLIT$.nnn if no name is given, or they
- are name.nnn if a name is given.

- The -Ln option specifies the file length in lines. The default is
- 66. This is a standard page length.

- The standard output from SPLIT is a list of the files generated.
- This may be used as input to CAT or MIX.

- EXAMPLE:
- SPLIT <TEXT.BIG TEXT -L2000
- SPLIT <BOOK.TXT -L66 |CAT >BOOK.TXT {takes a book apart in pages
- and puts it back togathe#}
- SPLIT <BOOK.TXT -L66 |MIX -L66N16 |2UP -L66W >LST:
- {prints a book text in signature page order
- with 16 page signatures}
